Google March 2023

Let me tell you that the March 2023 Core Update is the first broad core update of 2023. The last broad core update was rolled out six months before in September 2022.

Also, remember the update can take about two weeks to roll out. Sometimes, the changes you notice in the first few days are not where things settle. So, be patient and wait for the roll-out to be completed. No need to panic.

Previously, the search engine advised on what to do if a core update negatively impacts your website.  It has already delivered a list of questions to look at if a core update hits your site.

Though it’s too early to say much about the March 2023 core update, here are some crucial takeaways to consider based on past updates.

  • Keep an eye on the organic traffic and rankings of your site. It will help you determine the impact of the update. You’ll be to gauge the potential areas of improvement.
  • There are no noticeable impacts of core algorithm updates. It may take weeks for Google’s crawlers to index and reassess the website.
  • In the past, it has been clear that Google’s goal was to provide users with better search results. So, it would be best if you focused on creating valuable content that can cater to the needs of your target audience.
  • Pay attention to mobile-friendliness, site speed, and proper indexing. Why? Because it plays a significant role in your overall ranking.

According to the Helpful Content Update, creating content for people, not just for search engines, is essential.

It’s important to note that Google will refresh this algorithm periodically, according to Search Engine Round Table. However, Google may or may not notify those updates.
